Community do's & dont's

Follow the following steps while joining/creating a community

• Never join a community of your school /neighborhood as they give a lot of details as in to where you live.
• If you create a community regarding to some event you organized, delete the location details once the event is over.
• Dont upload copyrighted pics while creating a community.

Follow the following steps while posting a topic

• Again dont give personal details(i think you may be bugged reading this again and again)
• Never spam a community. Dont put up bad links unless it's of some use.

If you put up a bad link ina community full of spam i am sure no one will visit it & if you put up a bad link in a clean community then the onwer will delete it again no use.

If you are a owner

• Keep your community spam free . Even if you cant just put up strong words in description telling that they will be baned if they didi so
• If your community is plagued by spam make it MODERATED.
• AS Far as possible make it non anonymous .
• If any users ask for Id's of other users just ban him
• Dont forget you have tool called "BAN USER" & "DELETE ALL TOPICS BY USER"

Profile Dos & Donts

These are the 5 things that you should not do

• By default your contact address is given as visible to "EVERYONE". So better give a funny /fake one

like go4masti.blogspot.com, blogger,Google-01

• Dont answer Q. like "You stay with"-- This could lead to some problems if that you have given you stay alone.
• Dont give your true photo-- You can use AVATARS given by skype/yahoo/gtalk...
• Dont flood your "INTEREST" page--This also gives a lot of details about you. Fill them but dont flood them.

Finally

• Dont mention your School/college/office- This could be disastrous as people will come to know where you work where you live & studied.

Let look at some of the do's

• Give fake details as much as possible -- Never worry that you are depriving your friends of those details .If they want they will msg you.
• Fill up all the unwanted details -- This makes your profile big so that it hides other fields whose details(compenciates) that you have not given
• Make all necessary personal details visible only to "FRIENDS"

Above all fill profile details with some common sense.

Scrapbook do's & dont's

Most of us do great blunder's while scrapping. let's see what to & what not to while scrapping.

• Dont forget that your Scrapbook is visible to all.
• Never exchange your Personal details like Mob No.
• If you and your buddy are meeting at some place give him details of event in Msngr or Send him a message in Orkut. You may scrap him telling him to check his Inbox.
• Never discuss your personal life, like your family life, your girlfriend or boyfriend names etc.

Testimonial Dos & Donts

Never commit the following blunders when ever you accept/ write a testi.

• Accept testi only from friends you know whom you have seen and known personally.
• If your friend in a testi written to you has given some personal detail politely ask him to rewrite the testi without those details.
• As you dont want you details to be known you friends details are also precious dont disclose them while writing a testi for them.
• Dont forget you can delete an existing testimonial in case you dont know that fellow. As they say "BETTER LATE THAN SORRY"

Uploding pic & video

Be extremely careful while uploading a pic/ video in orkut or joga.com. As they say "A PIC IS WORTH A 1000 WORDS". You are giving a lot of personal details in those pic.

• No need of uploading the album with your pics of your friends, family etc.
• Even if you put up your own photo make sure it's a group snap
• Dont give too much details regarding the snap even if it's of your dog.
• You can put up pics of your pet, film stars, invention etc.
• Never ever upload a personal video.
